What is the Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is a sum of money allocated to schools for pupils that are known to have been eligible for free school meals (FMS) at any time in the last six years. The purpose of Pupil Premium is to address inequalities by closing the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

- Interventions using targeted Teaching Assistant Support;
- Targeted reading and phonics development and purchase of resources;
- Curriculum enrichment opportunities;
- Extra curricular activities;
- Subsidised music provision;
- Pastoral Support for families;
- Breakfast facilities

Catch Up Premium
The DfE has allocated £650 million to be spent on ensuring all pupils have the chance to catch up and supporting schools to enable them to do so. Whilst headteachers will decide how the money is spent, the Education Endowment Foundation has published guidance on effective interventions to support schools.
Sports Premium
What is the Sports Premium?
The Government is providing funding to support the delivery of PE in and sports in Primary Schools through the “Sports Premium”
This funding has been ring fenced, and will be allocated to Primary Schools across England providing them dedicated resources to buy in invaluable expertise and support. Primary Schools will be able to determine what they believe to be the most appropriate use of the funding. The funding amount schools receive is based upon the number of children of Primary School age the school has. The sports premium is to be used to increase the quality and breadth of PE and Sport provision while increase participation in Sport.
